Job summary

Chartwells K-12 is seeking a dedicated Food Service Worker to prepare, present, and serve meals while maintaining quality and safety standards in our school program. You will assist with prep, operate cash registers, assist customers, and maintain clean, organized service areas.

Follow recipes, monitor temperatures, and ensure proper portion control across all duties. Strong teamwork and reliable shift performance are expected, with a focus on customer service, safety, and adherence to policies

Qualifications

• Cash register familiarity is a plus.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Good command of English, verbal and written.
• Previous food service experience in healthcare, hotel, restaurant, or fast food is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, wash, cut and seed fruits and vegetables.
• Carry pans, kettles and trays to and from stations.
• Store food with proper wrapping, dating and rotation.
• Set up items for daily purchase.
• Perform general cleaning and dispose of trash properly.
• Distribute supplies and utensils.
• Follow recipes and maintain portion control and served temperatures.
• Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner.
• Address customer concerns and relay to supervisor.
• Ensure sanitation and safety compliance across all areas.
• Provide cashiering and line serving in all retail spaces.
