Job summary

Chartwells K-12 is hiring a Food Service Worker to prepare, present and serve meals in a school setting. You will handle cash and operate the lunch line, ensuring quality, safe temperatures and proper portions.

The role requires strong time management, reliability and the ability to work both independently and in a team. Responsibilities include stocking, rotating inventory, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with cashiering and customer service.

Qualifications

• Cash handling experience is preferred.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to handle heavy workload.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Good command of English, both verbal and written, and ability to follow instructions.
• Previous food service experience in healthcare, hotel, restaurant or fast food is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, present and serve meals with attention to quality and presentation.
• Carry pans, kettles and trays safely between stations according to safety standards.
• Store food correctly with wrapping, dating, and rotation procedures.
• Set up items for purchase on a daily basis.
• Perform general cleaning duties and remove trash as required.
• Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment as needed.
• Follow approved recipes and production standards for temperature and portion control.
• Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following service steps.
• Address customer concerns and relay information to supervisor.
• Ensure sanitation and safety requirements are met in all areas.
• Provide service in all retail areas, including cashiering and line serving.
