Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED.
• 1 year full‑time correctional, commercial, or institutional food service management experience, or 18 months correctional custody experience.
• Must possess or obtain ServSafe Food Safety certification within 12 months.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise Inmates assigned to the dining area and maintain a safe, sanitary kitchen.
• Prepare and assist with meal service based on pre‑planned menus in compliance with MTC and TDCJ directives.
• Clean and sanitize all food preparation equipment and maintain safe work areas.
• Oversee counts of kitchen tools and supervise inmate meal service as needed.
• Attend to overtime as directed and maintain regular attendance.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

ServSafe Food Safety certification

1 year food service/ correctional or 18 months custody experience

Valid driver's license
