DC Army National Guard is seeking a Food Service Specialist to plan and prepare meals, ensure dietary needs, and manage food safety for Soldiers in various settings. You will learn menus, ordering, and sanitation while supporting both field and fixed facilities.

The role offers training that covers safety, equipment operation, and practical cooking skills that translate to civilian food service careers in kitchens of all sizes.

Competenze

• Experience planning and preparing standard and dietetic menus and recipes.
• Experience ordering food and supplies.
• Knowledge of storing meats, poultry and perishable items.
• Interest in cooking and related subjects (home economics, health, mathematics, accounting, chemistry).

Mansioni

• Bake, fry, braise, boil, simmer, steam and sauté as prescribed by Army recipes
• Operate, maintain and clean field kitchen equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance on garrison and field kitchen equipment
