The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a Food Service Manager to oversee all dietary services for a correctional facility, including budgeting and staff management. The role emphasizes compliance with facility and client directives and maintaining high standards of food safety and service quality.

You will lead kitchen and dining area staff, supervise menus, and ensure efficient operations while adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 years of management experience in food service.
• Institutional cooking experience in a correctional setting preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of food service practices and materials.
• Experience coordinating a food service operation with administrative techniques.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with computers and department software.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Manages the daily operation of the facility food service operations with a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
• Reviews menus and supervises handling, preparation, and storage of food, equipment maintenance, records, and sanitation.
• Develops and maintains food service policies and procedures per professional standards and directives.
• Directs and trains staff; performs supervision including hiring, evaluation, development, promotion and disciplinary actions.
• Directs work, provides training, and inspects detainee food service staff performance.
• Monitors and maintains company quality assurance and controls in food production areas.
• Manages budget for food service including inventory and produces reports on efficiencies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
