The GEO Group Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Food Service Manager to oversee daily operations of inmate meals in a correctional facility. You will supervise food preparation, storage, sanitation, and inventory, ensuring compliance with safety standards and facility guidelines.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and experience in institutional cooking; you will train detainee staff and manage budgets, QA, and reporting to ensure high-quality service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 5 years of management experience in a food service environment.
• Experience in institutional cooking in a correctional setting preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of food service procedures and administrative techniques.
• Demonstrated personnel interactions, communication skills, and problem solving.
• Ability to work with computers and typical department software.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the food service in a creative manner.
• Review menus, supervise food prep and storage, and maintain equipment, records, and sanitation.
• Develop and implement food services policies and procedures following professional standards and the facility's guidelines.
• Supervise and inspect the work of other employees.
• Supervise, train, and inspect detainee food service staff.
• Supervise, provide training, and inspect work performed by detainee food service staff.
• Monitor and maintain company quality assurance and control in the food production areas.
• Manage food service budget (food and equipment inventory) and produce reports.
