Job summary

GEO Corrections & Detentions is seeking a Food Service Manager to oversee all dietary services within the facility, including planning, budgeting and staff management for kitchen, service line and dining areas.

The role requires leadership, experience in a correctional environment, and a strong grasp of policy development, sanitation, and equipment maintenance. Candidates should possess solid computer skills and supervisory abilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Five years of management experience in a food service.
• Experience in institutional cooking in a correctional setting preferred.
• Knowledge of food service procedures and equipment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of facility food service operations.
• Supervise staff, including detainee food service personnel.
• Develop and implement food service policies and procedures.
• Manage the food service budget and inventory; generate reports.
• Provide training, performance evaluations and disciplinary action when needed.
• Ensure compliance with quality assurance, sanitation, and safety standards.
