Job summary

Eckerd Connects is seeking a Food Service Manager in the Washington, DC area to oversee the center’s Food Services, ensure safe and efficient dining operations, and coordinate with Purchasing and Finance on inventory. The role emphasizes menu planning, staff supervision, and adherence to sanitation standards.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent with institutional food service experience; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred, along with ServSafe certification and a valid

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required. Extensive institutional food service management experience.
• Prefer Bachelor's degree in Food Service Management, Hospitality, or related field.
• Prefer three years broad-based experience in an institutional food service capacity, one of which was in a lead or supervisory position.
• ServSafe food safety certification.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred.
• Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and develops procedures necessary to operate center dining facility effectively, efficiently, and economically.
• The Food Service Manager plans and coordinates with Purchasing and Finance to maintain food and equipment inventory.
• Maintains strict safety and sanitation codes and procedures.
• Prepares menus and determines the quantity and quality of all foods ordered.
• Submits weekly reports as required and instructs departmental staff in sanitation and safety procedures.

Annual Salary: $60,000 - $65,000
