Eckerd Connects is hiring a Cook I for the Job Corps program at the Old Dominion Job Corps location in Monroe, VA. The role focuses on preparing meals, establishing menus, and coordinating daily dining operations to ensure timely service and proper sanitation.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, 2+ years of food prep experience, and ServSafe certification or the ability to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Plans and coordinates procedures necessary for day-to-day operations of center dining facility.
• Efficient and timely arrangement, servicing, and clean-up of meals.
• Maintain complete inventory file on food and equipment, ensure minimum waste through efficient storage, inventory, and food utilization.
• Maintain strict safety and sanitation codes and procedures.
• Submit weekly activity and other reports as assigned.

Service Contract Act (SCA) Position

Hourly Rate: $17.20

Duties and Responsibilities

• Cook I is responsible for preparing center meals, establishing menu, and determining quantities of food needed.
• Plans and coordinates procedures necessary for day-to-day operations of center dining facility.

• Cook I maintains complete inventory file on food and equipment, ensures minimum waste through efficient storage, inventory, and food utilization.

• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.
