Job summary

The Safety, Security and Transportation Manager at Eckerd Connects’ Laredo Job Corps Center leads the day-to-day safety and security functions to protect students, staff, and property. You will supervise a 24/7 operation, implement safety plans, and ensure compliance with OSHA and center policies while coordinating with local law enforcement.

This role supports a nationwide Youth Career Training program, offering meaningful work in a mission-driven environment with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, police science or related field preferred.
• Three to five years work-related supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred.
• Required to pass a drug screen per policy.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• The Safety, Security & Transportation Manager supervises the day-to-day operations of the Safety, Security and Transportation department to provide maximum safety and security for students, staff, center property and the surrounding community.
• The Safety, Security & Transportation Manager evaluates staff performance and provides staff training and implement departmental personnel changes as approved by the Center Director.
• Develop and monitor staff schedules for 24-hour, 7 day a week coverage.
• Develop and maintain Center Safety Plan, and Emergency and Disaster Plan (and weather-related Evacuation Plan) and conduct the yearly risk assessment survey.
• Establishes and communicates safety, security, and fire prevention policies with pertinent center and DOL regulations to students and staff.
• Serves as the centers representative and maintains effective liaison with law enforcement agencies in the community.
• Responsible for monitoring all center facilities to ensure compliance with OSHA Standards.

Annual Salary: $52,000
