The Food Service Manager is a management position responsible for developing and executing dining solutions to meet customer needs and tastes. Oversees and manages dining operations where customers order prepared food from a menu.

Assists the Director of Operations in the daily operation and management of retail brand units' main food production areas (FOH and BOH). Plans, directs, and coordinates dining service activities to deliver a quality finished food product to guests. The level of impact is within the manager's own operation.

  • Primarily Monday-Friday
Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Providing food services at an assigned location, ensuring quality, presentation, timeliness, and adherence to budget.
  2. Maintaining systems and procedures for food ordering, receiving, storing, preparing, labeling, prepping, and serving, along with menu planning.
  3. Ensuring sanitation and safety standards are met consistently, conducting QA audits, and communicating with building maintenance.
  4. Supervising entry-level employees, including hiring, discipline, performance reviews, training, and staff development across all shifts.
  5. Assisting with location forecasting, reporting, and weekly accounting.
  6. Conducting inventory and maintaining records to comply with company, government, and accrediting standards.
  7. Coordinating activities with internal departments (payroll, HR, Accounting, Marketing, IT) and participating in daily staff and management meetings. Interfacing with customers in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Core Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership: Engage and develop team members using Aramark's coaching model, recognize employees, ensure performance objectives are met, lead daily briefings, and uphold safety and sanitation standards.
  2. Client Relationship: Maintain effective relationships with clients and customers, identify needs, communicate progress, and demonstrate excellent customer service.
  3. Financial Performance: Maintain P&L statements, meet financial targets, understand performance metrics, and educate teams on improving margins.
  4. Productivity: Ensure efficient operations, control costs, and meet food and labor initiatives. Train teams to execute production, quality, and control standards.
  5. Compliance: Maintain a safe environment, comply with policies and regulations related to safety, health, and wages.

Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of management experience.
  • Ability to pass extensive background checks for secure facilities.

Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing in a restaurant environment.
  • P&L accountability and/or contract-managed service experience.
  • Current ServSafe and TIPS/TABS certifications.
