Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a Food Service Director to manage the SSLC’s food services, nutrition, canteen, and vending operations in Denton, TX. The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, budgeting, and staff leadership to ensure high quality food service for residents.

The Director develops goals, policies, and training programs, while coordinating with clinical teams and adherence to state guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Dietary, Food Service, Business Admin/Management, Culinary, Food Science, Nutrition, Hospitality).
• Experience in large-scale food service operations and supervision preferred.
• Knowledge of federal/state food service regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Directs the operations of the SSLC’s food services, nutrition services, canteen and vending operations.
• Develops program goals, guidelines, policies, and performance standards to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Monitors budget and financial controls for the department; procures goods and services.
• Leads staff scheduling and oversees training to maintain competent, compliant operations.
