Job summary

Tidewell Hospice, part of Empath Health, seeks a Food Service Coordinator to oversee daily dietary operations across Care Centers. You will manage meal preparation, delivery, and staff performance while collaborating with registered dietitians to develop client-centered menus.

The role emphasizes compliance with safety standards, policy reviews, and staff development to uphold our Full Life Care philosophy. Prior restaurant or health care experience and supervisory skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or two-year college equivalent; or 6 months to 1 year related experience/training.
• Certified chef or food/dietary manager credentials from a certified program.
• Restaurant or health care facility experience preferred.
• Management and supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service focus at all times.

Responsibilities

• Participates in daily meal preparation and delivery.
• Develops teamwork and alignment with Care Center goals.
• Involves patients, families and staff in menu planning with RD support.
• Annually reviews Dietary Services policies and procedures and suggests changes.
• Monitors quality assurance, OSHA and infection control compliance for the department.

Tidewell Hospice, a part of Empath Health is seeking a Food Service Coordinator responsible for the overall management and daily operation of dietary services to the Care Centers.

What You'll Do

• Participates in the daily preparation and delivery of meals served.
• Responsible for developing teamwork and commitment to ¬ Care Centers/agency goals and vision.
• Creatively involves patients, families and staff and volunteers in the development of client-centered menus/meal preparation and delivery systems, with assistance from RD.
• Annually reviews policies and procedures of the Dietary Services Department and recommends changes as appropriate to the Care Center Managers and Program Director.
• Monitors quality assurance, OSHA, and infection control compliance for the Dietary Services Department.
• Supervises, schedules and directs duties of all personnel of the Dietary Services Department. Screens, selects, and supports individual performance measures for all dietary staff in conjunction with the Managers and in accordance with established policy and procedure.

What You'll Need

• Education and/or Experience: Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certifications (i.e. CPR): Certified chef or food/dietary manager with credentials/training from a certified program.
• Restaurant or health care facility work preferred.
• Management and supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service focused approach at all times.
