Job summary

Tidewell Hospice, a part of Empath Health, invites you to join our team as a CNA/Dietary Aide in Southwest Florida. You’ll help with meal planning, preparation, and delivery while providing essential CNA care in a compassionate hospice setting.

We value caregivers who hold an active Florida CNA certification and CPR, with hospice, home health, or acute-care experience preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, and a supportive, mission-driven culture awaits.

Qualifications

• Florida State Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• Current CPR certification
• One year of recent experience in hospice, home health, or acute-care setting preferred
• One year of healthcare experience preferred
• Previous dietary experience preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide CNA care and support in the Hospice House as directed by the Nurse
• Assist with food purchasing, meal preparation, delivery, and sanitary kitchen maintenance
• Collaborate with Clinical Director, Registered Dietitian, and Food Service Coordinator to meet dietary goals and patient preferences

Job description

Tidewell Hospice, a part of Empath Health is seeking a caring and detail-oriented CNA/ Dietary Aide to join our team. Since 1980, Tidewell Hospice has proudly served families across southwest Florida with compassionate, dignified care. As a member of Empath Health, we help patients with advanced illness live meaningfully while supporting their families with warmth, expertise, and respect.

Schedule: Week 1: Tue, Wed, Sat Week 2: Sun, Mon, Thur, Fri

What you’ll Do

Is responsible for food purchasing and storage, meal preparation, meal delivery, and maintenance of a sanitary kitchen environment. Undertakes the vital job of meeting the dietary goals and preferences of terminal patients in the hospice house setting. In collaboration with the Clinical Director, Registered Dietitian, and Food Service Coordinator, the hospice CNA/Dietary Aide purchases, stores and prepares attractively presented meals in a sanitary manner, on a timely basis. Ensures the cleanliness of the kitchen, equipment and dietary department area and performs clinical/patient care duties as a CNA. Provides clinical services to meet care needs of patients in the Hospice House as directed by the Registered Nurse.

What You’ll Need

• Florida State Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant, including a minimum of 75 education hours of theory and clinical in preparation for a CNA license
• Current CPR certification
• One year of recent experience in hospice, home health or acute-care setting is preferred.
• One year of recent experience within a healthcare environment, preferably in a hospice or acute-care setting is preferred
• Previous dietary experience preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
