Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational experience in relevant areas.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any major with state-recognized certificate for school nutrition directors or 1 year relevant food service experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in any major with at least 1 year relevant food service experience or Associates degree with 1 year relevant food service experience
  • High school diploma and 3 years relevant food service experience
  • Must pass a background check and complete hiring processes
  • Learn POS system and complete annual NSLT trainings
  • Maintain annual training/CEU requirements

Responsibilities

  • Complete applications and renewals for all programs.
  • Process claims and reimbursements for all programs.
  • Ensure food service compliance and procurement.
  • Serve as liaison with Florida Department of Health and School District.
  • Train and supervise food service staff and attend director meetings.
  • Plan monthly team meetings.
  • Support administrative reviews and audits.

Job description

NATURE AND SCOPE OF ASSIGNMENT

The Food Service Coordinator is responsible for the Integrity of the Food Department; this person takes care of the day‑to‑day logistics of the food department. The Food Service Coordinator works to ensure the food department aligns with safety inspections, licensing and food service requirements. This person must ensure that we offer safe, nutritious meals for students. Food Service Coordinator completes and maintains all required documentation for recordkeeping, they track meal counts daily, submitting claims monthly by the 1st of each month. They take care of paperwork, Standard Operation Procedure (SOP), inventory and audit support. Food Service Coordinator must learn the systems necessary to complete all of these processes. This person must be creative and have excellent customer service.

  • High school diploma (or GED) and 3 years of relevant food service experience
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must complete the required hiring processes
  • Learn the Point of Sales System (POS)
  • Must take the National School Lunch Training & complete annual training
  • Maintain Annual Training/CEU
