Job summary

Meriwether Godsey is seeking a Part-time Cafeteria/Food Services Worker at Sweet Briar College in Amherst, VA. You will greet customers, operate POS, and help with food service and cleaning duties while supporting a fast-paced meal environment.

The role requires 1–2 years of food service experience, a high school diploma, and reliable transportation. Evening and weekend availability is needed. Benefits and meals are provided where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a positive and friendly attitude.
• Operate registers, scanners, scales and card terminals efficiently.
• Transport food and supplies and assist setup and breakdown.
• Serve and replenish food from counters and steam tables.
• Assist in food preparation and proper storage following safety rules.
• Keep cafeteria and kitchen areas neat and sanitized throughout shifts.
• Follow cleaning schedules and participate in safety meetings.

Food Service/Cafeteria Worker

Part-Time Part-Time Amherst, VA, US

Salary Range: $14.00 To $14.00 Hourly

Meriwether Godsey is looking for Part-time Cafeteria/Food Services Workers at Sweet Briar College, located in Amherst, VA.

• Must be able to work Part-time evenings and weekends.
• Pay rate: $14 per hour

What you will do:

• Greet customers with a positive and friendly attitude
• Operate registers, scanners, scales, and credit card/debit card terminals while handling exchanges in a quick, efficient manner
• Transport food and supplies to cafeteria area: assist in the set-up, maintenance, and breakdown of the cafeteria, food serving, and beverage areas.
• Serves and replenishes food from food counters and steam tables.
• Assists in the preparation of hot and/or cold foods and properly stores food, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage.
• Keep cafeteria areas and assigned kitchen areas neat and organized
• Clean and sanitize work areas, dining tables, chairs, and equipment throughout and after meal periods
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of other kitchen areas by following daily and weekly cleaning assignments
• Inspects workstations for compliance with service standards.
• Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments.
