Job description

UPMC Cole, in Coudersport, PA is seeking a casual (per diem) Food Service Attendant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the timely assembly, final preparation, and service of nutritionally appropriate and attractive meals. This role requires adherence to food handling techniques and food safety procedures, along with excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities:

1. Ensure necessary food and service equipment/utensils are secured for assigned area prior to meal service.
2. Adhere to department procedures regarding the operation of all food service equipment.
3. Perform additional responsibilities based on Facility/Department requirements, including:
1. Inventory and stock bulk supplies following established procedures and designated timeframes.
2. Serve patient meal trays using the designated department script, including proper patient identification.
3. Bus tables and sanitize tables and chairs.
4. Deliver meals to residents’ rooms upon request.
5. Set tables for the following meal according to the Food Service Guidelines Manual.
4. Assemble and serve meals according to diet orders, menus, and patient/guest-specific requirements.
5. Maintain food safety and quality as mandated by PA Department of Health, Allegheny County Health Department, and PA Department of Welfare (where applicable).
6. Adhere to hand hygiene and infection control procedures consistently when interacting with customers.
7. Perform sanitation for assigned work area in accordance with departmental procedures and health department guidelines.
