Job summary

ShopRite of Shelton in Shelton, CT is seeking a Food Service Clerk (Grade A) to deliver an attentive, friendly customer experience while maintaining a clean and safe food service area.

You will assist the Food Service Manager with daily operations, prepare items such as salads, sandwiches, chicken, pizza and pasta, and ensure proper temperatures and product rotation for quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak English clearly and understand basic instructions.
• Basic math proficiency.
• Ability to stand/walk for a full shift.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and occasionally up to 60 lbs.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly manner.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to operate department equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, friendly customer service and answer questions.
• Assist the Food Service Manager with daily department operations.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work area.
• Prepare products (salads, sandwiches, pizza, pasta, entrees) following recipes and standards.
• Ensure proper temperatures and rotate stock to maintain quality.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and company policies at all times.
• Assist with receiving, stocking, and price marking.
