Job summary

ShopRite is seeking a Food Service Clerk (Grade A) to deliver exceptional customer service and support in the Food Service department. You will assist the Food Service Manager, prepare items to specification, and ensure safe handling and presentation of foods.

You will work in a fast-paced environment, maintain cleanliness, and follow all safety and QA standards while providing friendly, knowledgeable service to customers.

Qualifications

• Reads, writes, speaks English and can understand basic instructions.
• Performs basic math and measures ingredients accurately.
• Stand/walk for long shifts; lift up to 60 lbs occasionally.
• Provide friendly, attentive customer service and handle inquiries.
• Collaborate with team to meet department goals.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely per training.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a great customer experience with attentive, friendly service.
• Assist Food Service Manager in daily operations.
• Maintain clean, neat and safe work area and proper product rotation.
• Prepare products (salads, sandwiches, entrees, catering orders) per recipes.
• Ensure proper temperatures and food safety standards are met.
• Follow department procedures for receiving, storing and labeling products.
• Dress and groom according to policy and wear required uniform.
