Job summary

ShopRite of Norwich in Norwich, CT is hiring to deliver a great customer experience in the Food Service department. You will assist the Food Service Manager and help maintain a neat, clean and visually appealing department with focus on safe handling of products.

You will prepare items such as salads, sandwiches, chicken, pizza and pasta according to recipes, greet customers, and rotate stock while ensuring proper temperatures and product freshness.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Able to perform basic math.
• Able to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Able to lift 25 lbs regularly and up to 60 lbs occasionally.
• Able to work in varying temperatures.
• Able to interact with customers in a friendly way.
• Able to work cooperatively with others.
• Able to operate all equipment used in Food Service department.
• Follow attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized, and safe work environment.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Promote current charitable promotions to customers.
• Stock, clean, straighten and rotate products to maintain displays.
• Prepare products per recipes and standards (salads, sandwiches, entrees).
• Ensure proper temperatures in displays and storage areas.
• Receive, store, and rotate products; protect QA standards.
• Operate department equipment (slicer, scale, oven, etc.).
• Follow QA and safety standards and company policies.
• Dress and groom according to policy.
• Attend training and maintain punctuality and attendance.
• Work overtime as assigned.
