Job summary

ShopRite of Cheltenham in Cheltenham, PA is seeking a Food Service Associate to deliver a great customer experience by providing attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable service and by assisting the Food Service Manager in daily operations.

You will maintain a neat, clean, and visually appealing department, prepare items according to recipes, ensure proper temperatures, stock and rotate products, and follow QA and safety standards to protect customers and product quality.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a shift.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs regularly and up to 60 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Ability to work with food products and chemicals safely.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly manner.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to operate department equipment safely.
• Ability to adhere to schedules and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized, and safe work environment.
• Clean and sanitize surfaces, utensils and equipment according to QA standards.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Stock, rotate, and display products to keep shelves in good condition.
• Prepare products per recipes and standards (salads, sandwiches, entrees, catering).
• Ensure proper temperatures in displays and storage areas.
• Follow procedures for receiving, storing, and dating products.
• Maintain signage and assist with promotions and cleanliness.
• Follow safety, QA, and company policies at all times.
• Work overtime and cooperate with team as needed.
