Job summary

ShopRite of Norwalk is hiring a Food Service Clerk (Grade A) to deliver superior customer service and assist the Food Service Manager in daily operations.

You will prepare products, ensure safe handling and storage, greet customers, and maintain a clean, organized department. The role requires physical capability to lift up to 60 lbs and work varied shifts in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing, speaking English required.
• Basic math skills.
• Stand/walk for full shifts.
• Able to lift 25 lbs and occasionally up to 60 lbs.
• Able to work in varying temperatures.
• Interact with Customers in a friendly, helpful way.
• Work cooperatively with others.

Responsibilities

• Greet Customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Stock, clean and display products; rotate inventory.
• Prepare items such as salads, sandwiches, chicken, pizza and pasta per recipes and standards.
• Ensure proper temperatures in display cases and storage areas.
• Follow procedures for receiving, storing, and pricing products.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the Food Service Dept.
• Operate department equipment (slicer, scale, can opener, wrapping machine, rotisserie, fryolator, cheese grater).
• Adhere to QA standards, health regulations, and company policies.
