Job summary

ShopRite of Waretown is seeking a Food Service Clerk to provide attentive customer service, answer questions, and suggest products. The role focuses on safe handling, preparation, and presentation of items in the Food Service department, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and efficiency.

You will support the Food Service Manager, keep the area neat and compliant with company standards, and assist with promotions and inventory as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a shift.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. occasionally; 25 lbs. regularly.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and with food products.

Responsibilities

• Deliver friendly, attentive customer service and answer questions.
• Assist in daily Food Service operations and maintain a clean department.
• Prepare products (salads, sandwiches, entrees) per recipes and standards.
• Ensure proper temperatures and product rotation; follow safety guidelines.
• Maintain displays, stock shelves and assist with promotions.
