Job summary

Meriwether Godsey's Guilford College dining team is hiring a full-time Cafeteria/Food Service Associate in Greensboro, NC. You will greet customers, operate registers, and help with food service in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Availability to work nights and weekends; pay rate $14 per hour; opportunities for growth and benefits.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of related food service experience (preferred).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and good organizational skills.
• Flexibility; ability to switch between locations and job duties.
• ServSafe Food Handler certification (preferred).
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a positive and friendly attitude.
• Operate registers, scanners, scales, and terminals while handling exchanges quickly.
• Transport food and supplies to the cafeteria area and assist in setup, maintenance, and breakdown of dining areas.
• Serve and replenish food from counters and steam tables.
• Assist in preparation of hot/cold foods and proper storage.
• Keep cafeteria and kitchen areas neat and organized.
• Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment throughout and after meals.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of other kitchen areas.
• Inspect workstations for compliance with service standards.
• Participate in safety meetings and hazard assessments.

Meriwether Godsey is looking for a full‑time Cafeteria/Food Service Associate at Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Availability & Pay

• Must be available to work nights, weekends, and other varying shifts.
• Pay rate: $14 per hour.

What You Will Do

• Greet customers with a positive and friendly attitude.
• Operate registers, scanners, scales, and credit‑card/debit‑card terminals while handling exchanges quickly and efficiently.
• Transport food and supplies to the cafeteria area; assist in the set‑up, maintenance, and breakdown of dining, food‑serving, and beverage areas.
• Serve and replenish food from food counters and steam tables.
• Assist in the preparation of hot and/or cold foods and properly store food, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage.
• Keep cafeteria areas and assigned kitchen areas neat and organized.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, dining tables, chairs, and equipment throughout and after meal periods.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of other kitchen areas by following daily and weekly cleaning assignments.
• Inspect workstations for compliance with service standards.
• Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments.
