Centinela Valley Union High School District is seeking a substitute on-call Food Service Assistant to support daily cafeterias. The role involves preparing, warming and serving hot and cold items to students and staff, while keeping food service areas clean and safe.
This position operates Monday through Friday as needed. Applicants should have at least six months of relevant foodservice experience and a high school diploma is preferred.
On call as needed. These positions work Monday through Friday.
Range 40; Schedule M; Step 1: $20.09 - Step 5: $24.14 Hourly
This is anOPEN recruitment to establish a list of substitutesfor the classification of Nutrition Services I.
No effort will be made to maintain a rank order of the applicants (P.C. Rule 60.100.5).
The examination process will consist of a written examination. Testing may occur every two weeks, depending on the number of qualified applicants and scheduling needs.

Under the direction of an assigned Cafeteria Manager, prepares, warms and serves hot and cold menu items to students and staff at an assigned school; maintains kitchen and food service areas in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.
At least six (6) months of experience in school, commercial, institutional or retail foodservice, or manufacturing.
Graduation from high school, or equivalent to the completion of twelfth grade, is desired but not required.
Possession of or the ability to pass a ServSafe® (or an equivalent) food handler certification test within the first six months of employment in this classification.
