Job summary

The Centinela Valley Union High School District is seeking a Substitute Nutrition Services I to support school cafeterias in Lawndale, CA. This on-call role works Monday through Friday as needed, providing food service under the direction of a Cafeteria Manager.

Responsibilities include preparing, warming and serving hot and cold menu items, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen and service area for students and staff. This on-call position offers flexibility with school schedules.

Qualifications

• At least six (6) months of experience in school, commercial, institutional or retail foodservice, or manufacturing.
• Graduation from high school, or equivalent to the completion of twelfth grade, is desired but not required.
• Possession of ServSafe or an equivalent food handler certification within the first six months of employment.

Range 40; Schedule M; Step 1: $20.09 Hourly

Type Of Recruitment

This is an OPEN recruitment to establish a list of substitutes for the classification of Nutrition Services I. No effort will be made to maintain a rank order of the applicants (P.C. Rule 60.100.5).

Testing Procedure

The examination process will consist of a written examination. Applications will be screened on a regular basis, and testing will be scheduled throughout the year as needed. Applicants will be notified of their application status via email.

Description

Under the direction of an assigned Cafeteria Manager, prepares, warms and serves hot and cold menu items to students and staff at an assigned school; maintains kitchen and food service areas in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.

MINIMUM

Experience

QUALIFICATIONS:
