Job summary

Missouri Department of Mental Health is seeking a positive and energetic Food Service Assistant for the St. Louis Forensic Treatment Center - South.

You will prepare and serve meals while adhering to dietary guidelines and sanitation standards, and you will help maintain a clean and safe dining environment. The role includes operating and sanitizing kitchen equipment, monitoring temperatures, and transporting meals, with an evening shift differential of $2.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves food to patients and staff in accordance with dietary guidelines.
• Operates and sanitizes food service equipment (steam tables, refrigerators, dish machines).
• Monitors temperatures of stored/serving foods and sanitation equipment.
• Disassembles serving lines and cleans dining areas; moves equipment for cleaning.
• Transports food from prep to serving areas using carts.
• Follows hazardous chemical procedures per MSDS and supervisor instructions.
• Attends shifts as needed to ensure adequate staffing.
• Meets competency training requirements for accreditation.
