Job summary

Northfield Hospital + Clinics is seeking a Culinary Services Aide I to support kitchen operations, ensure clean equipment, prepare patient meals, and deliver carts. You will help set up dining areas, assist in the café, and maintain accurate temperature records to ensure safety and quality.

This role offers part-time shifts with weekend and holiday rotation, wage range visibility, and benefits that include time off, parking, and potential education support.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write and speak English; follow verbal and written directions, complete simple calculations.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to stand the majority of shift.

Responsibilities

  • Washes, sanitizes and stores dishware, silverware, pots and pans and trays.
  • Checks patients' food order for accuracy according to diet needs prior to delivery.
  • Supports aides in the kitchen and café as needed.
  • Washes and sanitizes tables in the cafeteria and counters in the vending area.

  • Stores and rotates food and supplies in unit refrigerators and freezers.

Compensation

We are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, education and internal equity considerations. The hourly wage range for this position is $14.81–$20.91. This range reflects the base wage for this position.



Key Accountabilities


  • Washes, sanitizes and stores dishware, silverware, pots and pans and trays.

  • Checks patients' food order for accuracy according to diet needs prior to delivery.

  • Supports aides in the kitchen and café as needed.

  • Washes and sanitizes tables in the cafeteria and counters in the vending area.

  • Delivers food carts to various departments.

  • Stores and rotates food and supplies in unit refrigerators and freezers.

  • Monitors and records temperatures of cooler, milk and coffee.

Schedule


  • 56 hours per two-week pay period (0.7 FTE)

  • Scheduled shifts may begin as early as 6:00 a.m. or as late as 10:00 a.m., with end times ranging from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

  • Every other weekend and rotating holiday schedule

  • Call shifts as needed, casual/call minimum of three shifts per month
