Job summary

Shreveport Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a Prep Cook to assist in preparing and serving meals with a focus on safety and quality. You will follow recipes, operate dishwashing and food-service equipment, and help maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment throughout shifts.

The role requires flexibility to work a combination of weekdays and weekends, with open availability to accommodate varying schedules.

Job description

Assistswith preparation and service of food using proper food handling and food safety techniques for patients,employeesandspecial events, resulting in foods that taste good, are served at the proper temperature, and inan attractive mannerin accordance withestablished standards. Maintains a clean and safe workingenvironmentin accordance withestablished standards. Other dutiesinclude:Taking out the trash, Ensuring the availability of clean dishes, utensils, and glassware, delivering food to the patient floors,restockitems,cleanappliancesand machines. sweeping and mopping floors. Document temperature readings of thedishmachineduring each shift.

Schedule:

This position requires flexibility to work a combination of weekdays and weekends. Candidates should have open availability to accommodate varying schedules.

MinimumQualifications:

• Experience as aPrep Cook orCook preferred, but notrequired.
• Ability to understand and execute recipes and instructions in detail.
• Food safety certifications as required byjurisdiction. (ServSafe)
• Work alongside Cooking staff to prep for daily meal service.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience in healthcare food service desired.
