Job summary

Shreveport Rehabilitation Hospital in Louisiana is seeking a Prep Cook to assist with daily food preparation and service for patients, staff and events. You will ensure foods are tasty, served at the correct temperatures, and presented attractively, following established safety standards.

Responsibilities include delivering meals to patient floors, restocking supplies, cleaning equipment, and documenting temperature readings during shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Prep Cook or Cook, preferred but not required.
• Ability to understand and execute recipes and instructions in detail.
• Food safety certifications as required by jurisdiction (e.g., ServSafe).
• Experience in healthcare food service is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and service of food for patients, employees, and special events.
• Deliver food to patient floors, restock items, and ensure clean dishes, utensils, and glassware.
• Document temperature readings of the dish machine during each shift and maintain safety standards.

Job description

Assistswith preparation and service of food using proper food handling and food safety techniques for patients,employeesandspecial events, resulting in foods that taste good, are served at the proper temperature, and inan attractive mannerin accordance withestablished standards. Maintains a clean and safe workingenvironmentin accordance withestablished standards. Other dutiesinclude:Taking out the trash, Ensuring the availability of clean dishes, utensils, and glassware, delivering food to the patient floors,restockitems,cleanappliancesand machines. sweeping and mopping floors. Document temperature readings of thedishmachineduring each shift.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 1030am - 7pm

MinimumQualifications:

• Experience as aPrep Cook orCook preferred, but notrequired.
• Ability to understand and execute recipes and instructions in detail.
• Food safety certifications as required byjurisdiction. (ServSafe)
• Work alongside Cooking staff to prep for daily meal service.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience in healthcare food service desired.
