Responsibilities

  • Greet guests, take food and beverage orders, and serve in a courteous manner.
  • Set tables and ensure glassware and utensils are polished and properly placed.
  • Enter orders into the computerized system and process payments.
  • Provide periodic table maintenance, replenishment of bread and refills.
  • Assist guests leaving the dining area; communicate problems to management.
  • Stock condiments and side stands; perform light side work and stocking.

Job Summary

Responsible for taking all food orders and providing service to all guests in assigned restaurant. Sets tables in assigned station and ensures all glassware, flatware and china are clean, polished and placed in proper positions. Greets guests after seating and takes all orders for food and beverages. Enters data into computerized ordering system. Serves food and beverage to guests and assures quality service is provided at all times. Periodically returns to table during meal to refill glasses, replenish bread and butter, and replace ashtrays. Removes all dishes, silverware and condiments after guests have completed their entrees. Presents check after meal is completed, receives payment and returns change. Assists guests when they are leaving the dining room. Communicates all food problems to management. Stocks condiments, ice and side stands when regular duties are complete. Attends to the need of the customers as much as possible by lighting their cigarettes, puling out their chairs, issuing a fresh napkin, etc. Carries approved corkscrew, pens and lighters as a standard part of the uniform. Completes special assignments for management as requested.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to communicate effectively in English. Previous experience dealing with the general public. Previous food server experience preferred.

Essential Job Functions:

Greets customers and takes food and beverage orders in an efficient, courteous and professional manner.

Prepares food and beverage orders and delivers them in a timely manner in accordance with the venues standards.

Monitors guests’ needs on a continual basis, ensuring all requests are promptly fulfilled. Handles and solves any concerns and questions customers may have.

Performs cash handling tasks, as required and in accordance with the cash handling procedures.

  • Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of guest and work areas, including tables, chairs, counters, display shelves and storage as assigned.

Performs all side work and stocking of supplies in accordance with venue standards.

Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.

What You Will Need
  • Must have previous cash handling and Micros register experience.
  • Previous bartending experience is a plus.
  • Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills.

Must be able to work inside and maneuver throughout assigned station during entire shift.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and bend, pull and carry stock to refrigerator and cabinets.

Must be able to use hand motion when cleaning and wiping counters.

Must possess the manual dexterity to complete required “side work”.

Must be able to listen and respond to visual and aural cues.

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Must be able to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
