Job summary

Montgomery College is seeking a full-time Food Security & Basic Needs Program Coordinator for the Office of Student Life at the Germantown Campus. The role supports students in accessing essential resources, coordinates programs to address food insecurity, and builds community partnerships to expand services.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule with occasional evenings and weekends, telework eligibility up to 1 day per week, and requires a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience working with student support programs in higher education.
• Experience in managing, coordinating, or developing food security and basic needs programs or initiatives.
• Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship.
• Valid Driver's License

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and coordinate food security programming and services.
• Oversee and expand food security programs, including on-campus food pantries, emergency meal assistance, mobile markets, and clothing pantry initiatives.
• Track utilization of basic needs services and program participation; prepare regular reports.
• Develop inclusive, needs-based programming for veteran students and other groups.
• Coordinate general wellness and basic needs education for the broader student body; organize workshops and campaigns.
• Ensure programming is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and aligned with best practices.
• Build and maintain partnerships with local food banks and suppliers; manage inventory of food resources.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in public health, social work, psychology, nutrition, or related field
