Job summary

Springfield Technical Community College seeks a Special Programs Coordinator to oversee the Ram Mini Mart and related nutrition education initiatives. The role includes admin work, event coordination, and grant management to support student persistence and success.

The successful candidate will manage inventory, coordinate staff and volunteers, and develop educational programs in line with USDA guidelines. Requires a Bachelor’s and relevant experience, plus familiarity with food safety and FERPA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of experience in nutrition education, food pantry operations, or program management.
  • Experience coordinating programs, events, and budgets in an academic setting.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and FERPA regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate a special program/project for the Ram Mini Mart and food security initiatives.
  • Provide groceries and basic needs through the Ram Mini Mart.
  • Assess student needs related to food insecurity and connect to resources.
  • Serve as the ServSafe Manager and ensure high food safety standards.
  • Collaborate with food pantry partners and donors to secure nutritious food.
  • Manage referrals and maintain professional customer service.
  • Develop and facilitate nutrition and food security education events.
