Reports to: Senior Quality Manager

Responsibilities

  • Participate and support third-party, government, FDA, internal, and client audits; and assure appropriate follow-up and responses to audit reports and corrective actions.
  • Assures compliance with the facility's revision and updates of their preventive control plans and HACCP system programs under the FDA Regulations.
  • Assists the manufacturing facilities team in the validation and annual reassessment process of their preventive control plans and HACCP system programs.
  • Provide support to the manufacturing facilities team with the management of non-conformance issues, corrective action, closure of CAR’s, and preventive actions.
  • Provide support to the manufacturing facilities team in the implementation, follow-ups, and respect of FDA regulatory inspection programs.
  • Supports manufacturing facilities team in the implementation, maintenance, and reassessment of quality and food safety certification programs.
  • Validate and verify implementation of traceability systems, food defense programs, new products, production lines, and production equipment.
  • Create new forms and update old ones related to all production lines. Ensure all official Ya YA Foods quality documents are consistent through document control and compliance.
  • Provide support with batch sheet and product specification implementation. Review & edit documentation.
  • Participate in change management initiatives.
  • Update and create document controls to manage and update items such as production line forms, SOPs, etc.
  • Track allergens, write reports, and edit documentation.
  • Develop, revise, and conduct training for work instructions and SOPs.
  • Compliance with all rules & policies regarding health safety, occupational safety, environmental safety, food safety, legal regulations, company requirements, etc.
  • Compliance with the Company's Integrated Management Systems which includes, but is not limited to Production, Quality, Food Safety & GMP.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Food Science or a related field is required.
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience in Quality Assurance of food production/manufacturing is required.
  • HACCP Certification is required.
  • Prior experience in the beverage industry is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on written communication as this position requires high-volume reporting and professional document management.
  • Good knowledge of the food environment, food safety systems, and the related regulatory requirements (CFIA, Health Canada, USDA, FDA)
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Suite of Applications), and instructional software
  • Skill in organization, analysis, and the ability to meet deadlines for multiple tasks.
  • NB: Successful candidates will be required to provide a photo ID, banking details, a valid SIN number, and (if applicable) a valid work permit.
