The position involves risk-based evaluations, reporting, and potentially travel within the state, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and one year of professional work experience, or a bachelor's degree or higher substituted for the experience.
• Requires possession of a valid Class E driver license.
• Educational note: foreign credentials require evaluation by an approved credential evaluation agency.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regulatory inspections of food establishments under applicable Florida statutes and rules.
• Evaluate processing methods, controls, and sanitation to ensure foods are safe for human consumption.
• Prepare reports documenting deficiencies and advise on corrective actions; initiate stop sale or destruction when needed.
• Possess knowledge of HACCP, food safety regulations, and related standards; maintain equipment and testing procedures.
