Job summary

Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services seeks an Environmental Specialist II. The position requires a drive license, and successful candidates will manage regulatory duties, coordinate with other agencies, and participate in enforcement activities as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 1 year in environmental protection, regulation, or health; one of the physical or natural sciences; agriculture; or engineering.
• High school diploma or equivalent and 6 months of experience as Environmental Specialist I or higher with the State of Florida.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and conduct inspections and collect samples to determine compliance with applicable regulations.
• Investigate reports, complaints, violations or suspicious matters and collect evidence.
• Prepare and submit written and electronic reports in a timely manner.
• Maintain knowledge of relevant state and federal regulations, and read pesticide labels and regulations.
