Job summary

Schwartz Brothers Restaurants in Renton, WA is seeking a Food Safety Quality Technician to oversee GMP and HACCP adherence across production and packaging. You will verify product specs, hold non-conforming items, and maintain shift records while coordinating with the FSQ team.

Qualified candidates have GMP knowledge, food safety experience (training provided), and ability to work nights/weekends. WA Food Handler's Card required within 15 days; strong computer skills and multilingual ability are

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GMP and food safety practices.
• Experience in food safety or quality control; training provided for the right candidate.
• HACCP certification is a plus but not required.
• Must obtain WA State Food Handler's Card within 15 days of start.
• Strong computer skills with Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production of food, including ingredient, lot code, and process verifications.
• Measure product parameters to ensure specifications (weight, packaging, sensory data, allergen status).
• Initiate and release holds for non-conformances or pending micro analysis.
• Record data in the Product Grading Spreadsheet and notify FSQ team for out-of-spec products.
• Inspect plant areas daily for GMP, sanitation, and maintenance issues; escalate as needed.
• Verify HACCP records and logs daily; ensure compliance with program specs.
• Monitor GMP compliance and alert FSQ Supervisor to issues.
• Calibrate scales and thermometers; record data.
• Conduct monthly metal detection validation.
• Monitor pest control and record sightings; submit work orders for FSQ issues.
• Provide daily FSQ summaries to FSQ Supervisor/Manager via email.
