Job summary

BrightFarms is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Specialist II for its Lorena, TX greenhouse. The role focuses on environmental and product quality sampling, record review, KPI tracking, and sanitation program oversight. You will lead a sanitation team and help implement SSOP updates to ensure safety and quality across operations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in quality management, strong leadership, and proficiency with MS Office. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5 years combination of education and experience in quality management.
• Desire to be an integral part of a growing mission-based company.
• Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills.
• Some experience in a team lead role or as a supervisor with a team of employees.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a big plus but not required.
• Proficiency with computer operations and programs such as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Strong decision‑making and troubleshooting skills.
• Care about leading the movement to improve environmental impact of the food supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Collect environmental and water samples per the sampling schedules and protocols.
• Review and verify food safety and quality records completed by the operations team.
• Manage and update weekly FSQ KPI score cards and food safety culture whiteboard.
• Perform quality sampling checks of finished products.
• Work with chemical vendor to perform chemical titration checks for sanitation chemicals.
• Order and maintain sanitation chemical inventory and sanitation resources.
• Provide functional leadership to the sanitation team and revise SSOPs as necessary.
• Order laboratory supplies for environmental monitoring program.
• Help drive a culture of safety and quality, including culture surveys.
• Perform GMP & GAP audits and inspections.
• Assist with onboarding of new hires and training of operators.
• Work with cross-functional teams on facility projects.
