Job summary

Brightfarms in Lorena, TX is seeking a hands-on leader to supervise the seeding team and drive daily production in the greenhouse. You will guide staff during production runs, ensure timely sowing, and support scheduling and daily tasks for the Ag department.

The role requires strong leadership, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. It includes benefits and day-one eligibility for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Farm operations experience including crop planting and equipment management.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, verbal and written.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
• Detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervision and training of employees in day-to-day processes and procedures to develop.
• Achieve daily sowing goals.
• Manage daily seeding team production tasks: seeders daily cleaning, perform scheduled PM’s, clean and pluck drippers in the greenhouse, irrigation lines flushing, greenhouse cleaning.
• Oversee the proper ordering and timely delivery of ag inputs such as seeds and media and ensure all seeding line inputs are FSQ compliant.
• Record operational data such as, but not limited to, NetSuite assembly builds, food safety, operational paperwork, seeding accuracy measurements, seed usage.
• Communicate issues to the Maintenance department, creating work orders or reaching out to them directly when emergencies arise.
• Foster highly effective communication and collaboration with peers, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations and exceptional gutter quality.
• Maintain a positive, open, and professional working relationship with colleagues and management.
• Work closely with Grower and Head Grower in the execution of trials.
• Support Grower and Head Grower with daily tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.
