Job summary

The Quality Assurance Technician at Performance Food Group's manufacturing arm ensures compliance with SQF, HACCP, GMP, and FDA/USDA labeling standards across production, warehousing, and packaging processes.

You will update SQF/HACCP records, read manufacturing statements, support supplier approvals, and uphold strict food-safety practices while collaborating with multiple departments in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Associate degree or 1-year tech experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills: Outlook, Excel, Word, Access.
• Ability to work independently and with other departments.

Responsibilities

• Learn SQF, USDA/FDA regulations, GMPs, HACCP, SOPs.
• Maintain and update SQF and HACCP documentation.
• Read and understand Manufacturing Statements.
• Organize and maintain critical tracking documents.
• Coordinate supplier approval and ESG documents.
• Follow GMPs and allergen labeling.
• Understand cross-contamination and how to avoid it.
• Operate lab equipment (scale, thermometer).
• Learn SQF regulations per industry standards.
• Follow FDA & USDA guidelines.
• Administer environmental swab tests per SOPs.
• Maintain hold/release policies for ingredients or products.
• Help maintain records to ensure compliance with standards.
• Ensure daily pre-operational and operational inspections are completed.
• Assess materials and finished products via organoleptic, chemical, physical, and visual methods.
• Assist with quality checks for audits.
