Job summary

SkyChefs in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Food Safety Specialist to ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, HACCP, and the company’s GQS across our on-site operations. You will monitor records, train staff, and support audits to uphold safety and quality.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, collaboration, and the ability to drive improvements in a fast-paced aviation culinary environment at a 43-site network across the United States.

Qualifications

• Experience in food manufacturing, safety, or QA.
• Strong knowledge of FDA, USDA, HACCP.
• Ability to deliver training and audits.
• Attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and initiate recordkeeping and KPIs for Food Safety, GMPs, and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor GMPs daily to ensure company standards are met.
• Verify cooler and freezer temperatures for compliance.
• Perform environmental swabs and coordinate lab analyses.
• Assist the Quality Manager with training and daily quality initiatives.
• Conduct station inspections for compliance with HACCP docs and specs.
• Ensure portion control weights meet specifications.
• Complete dispatch, galley, and equipment checks for safety.
• Verify HACCP logs and related documents daily.
• Create charts, trending reports, and training visuals.
• Train hourly employees on safety and sanitation practices.
• Support USDA-regulated garbage standards for compliance.
