Responsibilities

• Monitor guest needs during service and relay to server or manager.
• Clear tables and maintain a clean dining environment.
• Sanitize and reset tables according to standards.
• Maintain dining room, stations, and guest areas; address spills promptly.
• Stock and replenish service stations.
• Follow health, sanitation, and safety standards.
• Reliable attendance on all scheduled days.

Description

The Food Runner/Busser position is essential to restaurant operations and guarantees efficient service as well as a clean and welcoming dining environment for guests to enjoy. This position will interact with both culinary and service staff and guests, so excellent communication skills and the desire to deliver exceptional customer service is a must.

• Deliver food and beverages promptly and accurately, ensuring each order reaches the correct guest while maintaining presentation and service standards.
• Communicate with guests to ensure a satisfactory experience and address any immediate needs or concerns, relaying feedback to service or culinary staff.
• Monitor guest needs during food delivery, responding to simple requests when appropriate and communicating additional needs or concerns to the assigned server or manager.
• Promptly clear tables of dishes, glassware, and utensils throughout service and after guest departure to maintain an inviting dining environment.
• Clean, sanitize, and reset tables according to restaurant standards, ensuring dining areas are guest ready at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room, service stations, and guest-facing areas, including spot cleaning floor and addressing spills or hazards promptly.
• Dispose of food waste, recyclables, and trash in accordance with TSV waste management and recycling practices.
• Stock and replenish service stations with glassware, silverware, plates, condiments, and other supplies to support efficient restaurant operations.
• Follow all health, sanitation, and safety standards while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
• Reliable attendance on all scheduled workdays.

Qualifications/Knowledge:

• Previous experience in a restaurant is a plus.
• Must already have or be willing to complete the New Mexico Food Handlers Certification upon hire.
• Must already have or be willing to complete the New Mexico Alcohol Server Certification upon hire.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Ability to communicate in a positive and productive manner while performing duties.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings.

Taos Ski Valley, Inc. is often a fast-paced work environment, especially during Holiday and Peak days. TSVI is located in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position may require travel on uneven, snow-packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions. Must be able to work in close quarters and with other staff.

Physical Demands of Position Include:

Will often lift and carry up to 25 pounds and may team-lift up to 50 pounds. 90-100% of the time will be spent standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, tasting, and smelling. Occasionally sitting – less than 15% of the time.

Positions dealing with children, of safety-sensitive and/or confidential nature, require driving or positions that handle cash may require a background check and MVR check. Employment is contingent upon a favorable background check and MVR check.
