Job summary

Taos Ski Valley, Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Maintenance Associate to support operations in winter and year-round outdoor spaces. You will operate vehicles and equipment, perform landscaping, and help keep outdoor areas clean and safe for guests.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, ability to pass an MVR, and flexibility to work weekends and holidays. Training is provided for safety procedures and equipment use.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass an MVR check.
  • Age 21+ per insurance requirements to drive or operate heavy equipment.
  • Landscaping experience preferred.
  • OHV license preferred.
  • Ability to operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles preferred.
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • Customer service oriented and professional with guests and coworkers.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Operate company vehicles and equipment (4WD trucks, UTVs, street sweepers; training provided).
  • Establish and maintain landscaping in public spaces; may cover additional areas as needed.
  • Daily cleaning and maintenance of outdoor public spaces (scrubbing, sweeping, organizing, trash/recycling).
  • Daily cleaning and maintenance of buildings (vacuuming, sweeping, carpet shampooing, windows/doors).
  • Remove snow and maintain walkways with shovels, snow blowers, de-icing agents, sand and gravel; heavy equipment may be used with training.
  • Regularly empty and maintain trash receptacles; proper disposal.
  • Maintain and process recycling (training provided).
  • Haul compost and manage compost buckets; clean compost area.

Description
  • Operate company vehicles and equipment, including 4WD trucks, UTVs, and street sweepers (training provided).
  • Establish and maintain landscaping in public spaces, with the possibility of additional landscaping areas as needed.
  • Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of outdoor public spaces, including but not limited to scrubbing stains, sweeping, organizing furniture, and maintaining trash and recycling receptacles.
  • Conduct daily cleaning and maintenance of buildings, including vacuuming, sweeping, shampooing carpets, and washing windows and doors.
  • Remove snow and maintain walkways using shovels, snow blowers, de-icing agents, sand and gravel (during winter months). May be expected to operate heavy equipment with proper training.
  • Regularly empty and maintain trash receptacles, ensuring proper disposal.
  • Maintain and process recycling, including the use of a baler (training provided).
  • Haul compost to the compost machine and clean out compost buckets.
  • Maintain walkways and plaza areas, ensuring they are clean and safe.
  • Clean public restrooms daily, ensuring they are sanitary and well-stocked.
  • Demonstrate reliable attendance on all scheduled workdays.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Knowledge
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to pass an MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) check.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older, per insurance requirements, to drive or operate heavy equipment.
  • Landscaping experience is preferred.
  • Off-Highway Motor Vehicle (OHV) license is preferred.
  • Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in English (both written and verbal).
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with guests and coworkers.
  • Coachable with a strong ability to learn quickly.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays.

Taos Ski Valley, Inc. is often a fast-paced work environment, especially during Holiday and Peak days. TSVI is located in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position may require travel on uneven, snow-packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions. Must be able to work in close quarters and with other staff.

Physical Demands of Position Include

In this position you will be standing and walking 80 - 90% of the time. Most of the time you will be sitting for this position will be in a vehicle. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 25 pounds frequently. This position will be outdoors in changing weather conditions which comes with summer mountain weather.

Positions dealing with children, of safety-sensitive and/or confidential nature, require driving or positions that handle cash may require a background check and MVR check. Employment is contingent upon a favorable background check and MVR check.
