Job summary

The St. Petersburg Yacht Club is seeking a dependable Food Runner to help deliver orders from the kitchen to guests’ tables quickly and accurately.

You will act as a liaison between front-of-house and back-of-house staff, communicating orders to chefs and prioritizing tasks to handle allergies and special requests. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and some kitchen experience, with the stamina to carry heavy trays, multitask, and work varied shifts including nights and

• Some experience working in kitchens preferred.
• Must be able to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist the food expediter, maintain & organize condiments and to-go wares, and basic food prep
• Assist in banquet, dish and pot & pan area, as needed
• Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules
• Physical ability and stamina to carry heavy trays
• Availability to work various shifts, including nights and weekends
• Multi-tasking abilities
• Good oral communication skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment
• Acting as the point of contact between Front of the House and Back of the House staff

Job Description

We are currently looking for a hard-working and motivated individual to join our team as a Food Runner. The Food Runner will assist in delivering food orders from the kitchen to customers' tables rapidly and accurately. Acting as the point of contact between Front of the House and Back of the House staff. Communicating food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities (e.g. food allergies).

All duties will be performed within the guidelines of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards, and objectives. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma (or equivalent) and some experience working in kitchens.
