Hals-the-Steakhouse---Nashville-LLC in Nashville is seeking a motivated Food Runner to join our kitchen and front-of-house team. You will help maintain smooth service, relay orders promptly, and ensure plates meet our high presentation standards.

Ideal candidates thrive in a fast-paced environment, communicate clearly with waitstaff and kitchen, and take pride in accurate, timely deliveries. Previous food service exposure is preferred, and a strong work ethic is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Previous knowledge of food service regulations is preferred.

• Able to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the efficient flow of orders from the waitstaff to the kitchen.
• Check receipts and assemble the order for the table.
• Ensure orders are being prepared with the correct priority and alert management to quality issues or long wait times.
• Ensure that the food presentation is fresh and up to quality standards.
• Assist in the final plate presentation (e.g., adding condiments and/or toppings).
• Check dishes before delivery for accuracy, presentation, and temperature.
• Deliver orders quickly to customers to maintain efficient service.
• Communicate important information to the kitchen and the waitstaff (e.g., special requests).
• Keep Runner/Expo area clean and well stocked.
• Eliminate obstacles in service, food prep lines, or dishwashing stations.
• Inspect the premises according to quality and sanitation standards and assist in cleaning.
• Maintain a safe and clean working area; sweep/mop as needed.
• When interacting with customers, preserve the restaurant’s reputation of providing excellent customer service.
• Support other tasks as needed (e.g., organizing and bagging to-go orders).
• Perform opening/closing and on-shift side work and maintenance properly.
