Job summary

Conrad's Crabs in Abingdon, MD is hiring a Food Runner to support a fast-paced dining room. The role pays $13.25–$15.00 per hour and includes opportunities for growth within the restaurant.

You will deliver food, verify orders, greet guests, and coordinate with kitchen and servers while maintaining clean stations. Previous restaurant experience is preferred but not required, with emphasis on reliable, friendly service.

Title

Food Runner

Location: Abingdon, MD

Key Responsibilities

1. Food Delivery:

   • Transport food and beverages from the kitchen to the dining area efficiently and accurately.
   • Ensure that orders are delivered in the correct sequence and to the right table.

2. Order Verification:

   • Check that all items on the order are present and meet quality standards before delivery.
   • Verify that special requests and dietary restrictions are accurately addressed.

3. Guest Interaction:

   • Greet guests warmly and professionally when delivering food.
   • Address any immediate concerns or issues with orders promptly and courteously.

4. Coordination with Kitchen and Service Staff:

   • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
   • Work closely with servers to manage the flow of food and ensure smooth service.

5. Maintaining Cleanliness:

   • Keep food running stations and service areas clean and organized.
   • Ensure that dishes, utensils, and other service items are properly handled and cleaned.

6. Assisting with Table Service:

   • Assist servers with additional tasks such as refilling beverages, clearing tables, or resetting tables as needed.

7. Handling Special Requests:

   • Accommodate special requests from guests and relay them to the kitchen or service staff as required.

8. Monitoring Supplies:

   • Report any shortages or issues with supplies to the supervisor or kitchen staff.

Qualifications

• Experience: Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not always required.
• Skills:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to carry trays and lift heavy items as needed.
• Attire: Adherence to the restaurant’s dress code and hygiene standards.
