R365hire is seeking a Food Runner in Tiburon, California to bridge kitchen and dining room, ensuring timely plating and accurate delivery. The role requires urgency, menu knowledge, and clear communication with the kitchen and servers.

You will maintain pacing of service, describe dishes confidently to guests, and support open tables, resets, and expo areas. Strong teamwork and attention to detail are essential to sustain guest satisfaction throughout service.

Position Overview

The Food Runner plays a critical role in delivering a seamless and well-timed dining experience, acting as the bridge between the kitchen and the dining room. This position requires urgency, awareness, and strong communication, ensuring that every dish is delivered accurately, efficiently, and with proper presentation. The Food Runner must have a strong understanding of the menu and the ability to confidently describe dishes when presenting them to guests. Working closely with both the culinary and front-of-house teams, this role helps maintain the pace and flow of service while supporting overall table maintenance and guest satisfaction.

Service Execution & Timing

• Deliver food quickly and accurately from the kitchen to the correct tables, maintaining proper pacing of courses
• Ensure all dishes are presented according to standards, including correct garnishes, modifications, and plating integrity
• Communicate with the kitchen and service team to manage timing, delays, and special requests

Menu Knowledge & Presentation

• Maintain strong knowledge of all menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and common modifications
• Confidently present dishes to guests, identifying each item clearly and accurately
• Be prepared to answer basic questions or direct guests to the appropriate Server when needed

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with Servers, Server Assistants, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service flow
• Assist in coordinating large orders and communicating table readiness
• Step in to support clearing, resetting tables, and maintaining the dining room when needed

Attention to Detail

• Double-check orders before leaving the kitchen to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Monitor food quality and temperature, addressing any issues immediately
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in expo areas, service stations, and pathways

Operational Support

• Assist with opening and closing duties, including setup and breakdown of service areas
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of all food running stations
• Perform additional responsibilities as directed by management to support overall operations
