Position Overview

Food Rescue Delivery Truck Drivers will assist in picking up and delivering surplus, soon‑to‑expire, or other donated food items from the wholesale market to our community partners. Drivers will primarily deliver in our 26‑foot refrigerated straight truck. They are responsible for safely unloading the product at community partner sites. Drivers’ hours fluctuate depending on seasonal need and demand. They follow food safety protocols, use our custom app to complete scheduled deliveries, and represent the organization as a friendly, reliable face in the field.

Responsibilities

• Assist in picking up prebuilt pallets and delivering them to community partners.
• Pick up bulk donations and deliver them to our warehouse space.
• Load and unload pallets in the 26‑foot refrigerated straight truck using the lift gate and pallet jack.
• Provide forklift and pallet‑jack certification or training if needed.
• Exhibit exceptional customer service skills as the organization’s face in the field.
• Wrap pallets and load them into Sharing Excess vehicles.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must pass a DOT physical, drug screening, and maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• 2+ years of professional driving experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Good vision, hearing, and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal communication and excellent customer service skills.
• Great communication and time‑management skills.
• Ability to follow food safety and preservation protocols.

Schedule

5 days per week, 7:30 am–3:30 pm. Monday‑Friday and Tuesday‑Saturday schedules are available; the schedule may vary day to day depending on demand.

Compensation

• Paid hourly starting at $22.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
