Job summary

John B. Sanfilippo & Son, Inc. is seeking a Quality Technician I to perform timely quality checks on raw materials, work-in-process and finished products.

The role includes inspection, laboratory analysis, organoleptic evaluation and verification of packaging quality to ensure product consistency and food safety compliance. Responsibilities include conducting testing on processing and packaging goods, packaging integrity checks, label accuracy, date codes, and pre-operational inspections.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Food quality experience required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts analysis on processing and packaging goods, including visual inspection, organoleptic evaluation, weight, size, mix, moisture, water activity, and salt testing.
• Tests packaging integrity and quality (oxygen, vacuum, leaker, quantity, weight)
• Verifies product type, label accuracy, date codes, lids, and over-cap color
• Conducts metal detector compliance testing, ATP testing for sanitation verification, and pre-operational inspections of packaging lines
• Enters analytical data, product holds, and equipment checkout information.
• Prepares samples for analysis in coordination with the R&D laboratory.
• Places products on hold when results fall outside specification.
