Job summary

Sugar Creek Packing Co. seeks a quality assurance technician to support QA/QC in a fast-paced food manufacturing setting. You will perform sanitation reviews, collect samples, and conduct tests to ensure product quality and safety.

You will document findings and support HACCP compliance in a hands-on role. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in QA within food manufacturing, and familiarity with GMPs, HACCP, FSIS/USDA standards, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: 1–3 years in a quality assurance role in a food manufacturing setting preferred.
• Certification: None required.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operational sanitation review of the food processing environment and equipment.
• Sample environmental surfaces, finished product and ingredients for microbiological and chemistry attributes.
• Collect samples and perform tests for specified acceptable quality limits (AQLs).
• Print labels on the label machine if required.
• Place product on hold when it does not meet AQLs.
• Report quality deviations to the Production Supervisor for corrective action.
• Inform Plant FSQA Manager and Supervisor of any food safety/quality issues.
• Verify ingredient and packaging material acceptability per internal specs.
• Document HACCP records and maintain concise, accurate records.
• Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment and comply with policies.
